Berghotel Kockelsberg
Situated high above the Roman metropolis of Trier, on the lefthand side of the Moselle mountains, is the Berghotel Kockelsberg, whose history harks back to the 8th century.
Initially under family ownership, used later on as part of the St. James Hospital, the restaurant business was started in the former manor farm in the year 1867.
In 1979, circuitously, the property ultimately came under the ownership of the Trier-based entrepreneur, Johann Erdmann.
One year later, he arranged for the conversion and upgrade of the buildings into a modern hotel with catering facilities, in consideration of a restoration concept, which respected the heritage of the buildings.
With its incomparable location in the middle of the idyllic forest backdrop, the enchanting view of the city and the Moselle Valley invites you to linger.
